What is SHR?

SHR is a permanent laser hair removal treatment that is developed to get rid of up to 90% of unwanted hair in a comfortable, quick and painless way - with long-term results.

The SHR laser uses a low energy in combination with a high repeating frequency. Contrary to IPL, the energy is more spread on the skin. Because it's spread more, the treatment is more effective and the skin cools down quicker.

Why choose SHR for permanent hair removal:

Because the SHR laser uses a low energy with a repetitive lightflash, the temperature only reaches up to 45°C. The head of the laser is also cooled down to -5°C, which makes the SHR laser treatment practically painless and much more comfortable in comparison to the older IPL lasers.

SHR (Super Hair Removal)

Why do you need multiple treatments?

Every hair grows through a cycle, with multiple phases. Only the hairs that are in the active growth phase (the anagen phase) can be destroyed during a SHR permanent laser hair removal. Between 15 - 25% of your hairs are currently in that specific growth phase. So to destroy up to 90% of your unwanted hair, you need multiple treatments.

Hair growth is influenced by genetic factors like hair colour, ethnicity and hormonal fluctuations. On average, you will need 10 - 12 treatments - but this cn vary by genetic or hormonal factors or previous hair removal methods.

Hair growth

All the hairs on our body pass through one of the four phases of the hair growth cycle. This is what a full cycle looks like:

  1. Anagen phase: active growth phase for 2 to 6 years - only if the hair is in this phase, hair removal can take place
  2. Catagen phase: transition phase for 1 - 2 weeks
  3. Telogen phase: resting phase for 5 - 6 weeks depending on which body parts
  4. Exogen phase: falling out phase - the hair eventually lets go and falls out

Every hair passes through its own cycle and this varies in time. That's why you'll need multiple treatments. After up to 90% of the unwanted hairs are destroyed, you can keep up your result with a single repeat treatment once or twice a year. This repeat treatment is not obligatory, however it is strongly advised.

I recommend it to all my friends.
